The AN/PRC-117F(C) is now the only 30 to 512 MHz radio that is fully NSA- and JITC-certified for DAMA and SINCGARS interoperability. To date, more than 600 AN/PRC-117F(C) radios have been shipped.

Effectively three radios in one, the AN/PRC-117F(C) provides low-band very high frequency (VHF) capabilities for combat net radio, high-band VHF functionality for public safety, and ground-to-air and ultra-high frequency (UHF) features for military ground-to-air and satellite communications (SATCOM). Continuous on-the-air coverage from 30 MHz to 512 MHz is provided to allow full use of the frequency spectrum.
