MELBOURNE, FL/ROCHESTER, NY, January 24, 2013 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, delivered enhanced wideband networking capabilities to the middle tier of the Brigade Combat Team (BCT) at the fall 2012 U.S. Army Network Integration Evaluation (NIE).
Soldiers at the NIE were able to stay connected and communicate seamlessly across the tactical network via Falcon III(r) manpack and handheld radios using the latest release of the Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform (ANW2). The new release supports networks with up to 30 users through new protocols that intelligently identify and allocate available channel bandwidth to meet the Army's needs at the mid-tier level of the network.
Harris developed the new ANW2 release based on direct feedback from soldiers during past NIE events. The increased node count and dynamic channel allocation provides greater capacity and operating flexibility at the important mid-tier layer. This new version of ANW2 will serve as the mid-tier wideband networking waveform for the U.S. Army in connection with Capability Set 13, which involves the initial rollout of an integrated tactical network to BCTs.

Harris is providing AN/PRC-117G and AN/PRC-152A wideband tactical radio systems to BCTs from the 10th Mountain Division as part of Capability Set 13, which involves the initial rollout of integrated tactical networking to up to several BCTs.
Also at the NIE, Harris successfully deployed its 2-channel AN/VRC-114 vehicular radio system. The AN/VRC-114 met or exceeded all performance requirements at NIE. Harris developed this solution, which is based on its highly successful AN/PRC-117G, for the Army's Mid-Tier Networking Vehicular Radio Program.
