CINCINNATI, November 7, 2000 - eYada.com, one of the Internet's leading talk radio/entertainment companies, has selected Harris Corporation to provide studio equipment and integration services for its new Manhattan-based broadcast facility.
The new facility will include five full-function studios, a control room for remote broadcasts, and various editing and production suites from which its on-air personalities and celebrity guests will conduct interviews and debates and offer breaking information, insight and general talk throughout the day. Audio and video will be streamed live from the studios to the Web and will be available as "point and click" files on the eYada.com site.
eYada.com chose Harris to provide a variety of studio products and systems including consoles, CD players, microphones, mini discs, and codecs for recording and "dialing in" remote broadcasts. Harris also will provide pre-wiring of studio equipment and installation services.
"To succeed, Internet radio requires that the digital guru and the traditional broadcaster work together," said Steve Aprea, chief engineer at eYada.com. "We went with Harris because when it comes to consoles, routers, integration, and other traditional studio products and services, they're not just the best at what they do, they're pretty much the only ones who do it. Their equipment is rock solid and cleared to military standards."
All the design engineering for the eYada.com facility was done at Harris' Mason, Ohio location. All wiring, harnesses and patchbays then were shipped pre-assembled to eYada.com's new Times Square location. The studio is scheduled to go on air November 13.
eYada.com (http://www.eyada.com), one of the Internet's leading entertainment companies, reaches more than one million worldwide users each month, showcasing 46 shows and more than 240 hours of live, original talk programming each week. Launched in August 1999, the network showcases Entertainment, Sports, and Health, Fitness & Adventure Channels. eYada.com features a stellar lineup of on-air talent including Richard Johnson of The New York Post, award-winning sports journalist Kevin Cook, former Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten, renowned fitness author Liz Neporent, and Ironman World Champions Peter Reid and Lori Bowden. A Women's Channel and Teen Channel will debut on eYada.com in 2000. Advertisers include Showtime, Visa, the U.S. Army, and AskJeeves.com.
