CAMBRIDGE, UK, June 25, 2003 – Harris Broadcast Communications, a leader in innovative digital solutions for both radio and television, will demonstrate its latest offerings in network access, automation, digital transmission technology, studios, and systems at the upcoming IBC 2003, Amsterdam, Netherlands, 12-16 September, Stand 8.291
Two key products that will be on display are NetVX and NeuStar. NetVX, a revolutionary one-box networking solution, can be configured to provide the level of functionality that has required up to 14 separate components until now. NeuStar, a codec pre-conditioner, promises a quantum leap in audio digital signal processing within existing bit constraints.
Additionally, Harris will show Harris Resource Suite (hrs), which is broadcasting’s first ingest-to-air workflow automation system. It brings together everything a broadcaster needs to automate labour-intensive processes, eliminate duplication of efforts, integrate asset management and archive systems, and share media seamlessly throughout the enterprise.
Additionally, Harris will demonstrate two key digital radio technologies: a DAB transmission chain and DRM broadcast capabilities. The DAB broadcast chain will feature a DAB Head-End, DAB receiver, DAB 660 transmitter and video display with live demos of IP tunnelling gateway and MPEG4 encoding.
Other highlights include a broad range of DVB-T transmission equipment, incorporating the latest model in the SPOT family—SPOT-T, a low-power DVB-T transmitter, and a new second-generation DVB-T modulator/exciter, the V-SFN2.
Finally, the NAB2003 award-winner, PocketRec, a new digital audio production software tool for field radio interviews will also be on display. Created for use in Microsoft’s PocketPC and similar portable devices, PocketREC software uses Windows-compatible files to upload recorded data to the radio studio. PocketREC software can also edit and label material on a PocketPC, then send the material to a studio via the Internet, remote access or the studio’s docking station.
