MELBOURNE, FL/ROCHESTER, NY, May 22, 2013 — Genesee County, New York, has awarded Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) an $8 million contract to replace its aging public safety radio system. The Harris standards-based communications system will improve coverage and upgrade communications for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services, as well as county highway and public works departments.

The new system will deliver integrated and interoperable communications capabilities for better and more efficient coordination among public safety and public works agencies. It will extend coverage to the farthest reaches of the county — covering 95 percent of the region — and eliminate most dead spots.

The new digital radio system is based upon Project 25 technology standards and features Harris' VIDA^® network, which delivers powerful network management tools and is a platform for easy future growth. Genesee County first responders and public works teams will be using feature-rich Harris XG-25 portable and mobile radios.

Norden Extends Harris CapRock Agreement to Add VSAT Communications Services to Global Fleet

MELBOURNE, FL and OSLO, NORWAY - May 17, 2013 — Norden A/S, an independent shipping company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, has extended its agreement with Harris CapRock Communications to provide broadband communications to Norden's global fleet of 39 bulk carrier and tanker vessels. The agreement expands an initial contract awarded in March 2012 to support 39 vessels.

Harris CapRock will provide each Norden vessel with end-to-end Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) communications that enables corporate networking, Internet access, voice communications, real-time monitoring and reporting, and crew morale services. The turnkey solution includes network design, equipment and installation, service and 24/7 support from Harris CapRock's Customer Support Center. To date, Harris CapRock has successfully installed 30 vessels of the Norden fleet.

"We have commenced an initiative with some of our selected vendors, giving us online access to certain equipment on a trial basis, such as navigation equipment and cargo pumps," said Jesper Kongstad, Director of Technical Department for Norden. "This is enabling online diagnosis and the expedition of troubleshooting which is a great time and cost-saver for us. The system has also improved the day-to-day collaboration between office and vessels," Kongstad continued. "For example, when our vessels log onto video communicating, it is easy to transmit short messages back and forth in real-time, rather than having to send emails or make calls. We feel this will help break down barriers between office and vessel.

"Equally importantly, we have noticed an improvement in crew morale. Ensuring our employees can stay in close touch with family and friends while at sea is of utmost importance to Norden, and the system from Harris CapRock allows us to do this," Kongstad added.

MELBOURNE, Florida, May 16, 2013—Cindy Kane, director of Corporate Relations for Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), has been named a 2013 Alumna of Distinction by the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. Kane and five other awardees were recognized at the college’s annual awards banquet in April. With more than 30,000 graduates with degrees in advertising, journalism, public relations and telecommunications, only 131 individuals have been selected to receive this honor since its creation in 1970.

Kane was recognized for her accomplishments in the business community and her work with government, education and non-profit organizations. In her current position at Harris, she is responsible for community relations, university relations, K-12 outreach, the Harris Foundation, the company’s Customer Briefing Center, and state and local government relations for the corporation.

Kane’s work with the Florida Chamber of Commerce led to an appointment by the Speaker of the House to sit on the Workforce Safety Committee for recommendations for ensuring safety of state employees. Due to her volunteer work with children at risk, she served on the board for adoption reform in the state of Florida, and was appointed to Governor Rick Scott’s transition team for the Department of Children and Families. Florida Healthcare Providers Begin Securely Exchanging Patient Information Using Florida Health Information Exchange

MELBOURNE, FL/WASHINGTON, May 14, 2012 — Two healthcare providers are now securely exchanging patient health information with the Florida Health Information Exchange Patient Look-Up Service developed by Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS). Strategic Health Intelligence of Pensacola and Atlantic Coast Health Information Exchange of Miramar — which have more than 2.5 million patient visits annually — have become the first providers to use the service.

The service allows healthcare organizations and their affiliated users to query medical records of other participating healthcare organizations for individual patient data. The secure information exchange facilitates patient care, diagnosis, and course of treatment; enhances communications between hospitals, physicians and other providers; and reduces orders for duplicate tests, procedures, and medications.

By June 2014, the Florida Health Information Exchange will include up to 20 participating entities across the state. The service also will connect to providers outside of Florida through the nationwide eHealth Exchange.

Harris is under contract with the Agency for Health Care Administration to help develop a health information exchange infrastructure that connects health care providers across the state. Provider organizations scheduled to join the service include large hospital networks, federally qualified health center networks, regional health information organizations, and the 67 county health departments.

Harris will team with Computer Sciences Corporation and other subcontractors to provide round-the-clock technical support for the frontline operations of approximately 15,000 law enforcement officers. The Harris team will support the agency's existing tactical communications networks at multiple locations in the continental U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The team brings more than 20 years experience delivering world-class integration services to some of the largest networks in the world.

MELBOURNE, FL/ WINNERSH, UK, May 7, 2013 — East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is deploying Harris Corporation's Clinical Integration Platform to help provide a paperless and mobile clinical environment as part of a wider modernization program. East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest and busiest hospital trusts in the United Kingdom, with more than 7,000 staff across five sites.

The Trust signed a pilot agreement for 500 clinical portal licenses to enable the organization to bring together patient information from different clinical systems that currently work in isolation. This will provide healthcare professionals with a real-time, intuitive and comprehensive view of critical patient data necessary to provide safe, high-quality and timely patient care.

The initial phase of the implementation will integrate data from six major clinical systems including the Trust's patient administration, pathology, document management, vital signs monitoring, PACS and theatres systems.

Leveraging Imprivata's OneSign Single-Sign On, the clinical portal will automatically log in, draw and present relevant patient information from each of the systems and provide it on a single screen. In addition, the system also will enable doctors to order standard diagnostic tests quickly and confirm receipt of results.

"We have chosen to pilot the use of a clinical portal solution across three clinical specialities with the intention that it provides the technology to enable staff to operate more efficient and paperless clinics in line with the trust's IT strategy and the government's challenge to create a paperless NHS by 2018," said Bob Reeves, head of IT at the Trust. "By using such technology and simplifying our processes, East Kent estimates that the solution can reduce the amount of time that busy A&E doctors spend searching for patient information by up to 20 minutes for more complex patients."

MELBOURNE, FL/ROCHESTER, NY, May 7, 2013 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, was selected by SAVIS Tecnologia e Sistemas S/A to provide an end-to-end tactical communications system for SISFRON, which is the largest border security program in Latin America.

Harris will work with Savis Tecnologia e Sistemas S/A, an Embraer Defesa & Segurança subsidiary, to provide border security personnel with tactical voice, situational awareness and surveillance capabilities from Harris wideband radios. These radios deliver live video, tactical chat, and situational awareness to the lowest echelons. Savis is the prime contractor on the SISFRON program.

Harris will supply tactical communications subsystems, accessories, software, services and support for the pilot phase of SISFRON (Sistema Integrado de Monitoramento de Fronteiras), the integrated border monitoring system the Brazilian Army is developing across the western borders of Brazil.

This initial phase of SISFRON will provide surveillance and protection across approximately 650 kilometers of Brazilian border territory. SISFRON intends to cover the entire interior border of Brazil, which is more than 16,000 kilometers of territory that divides 11 Brazilian states and 10 neighboring countries.

The Harris tactical communications system consists of radios and accessories from across the entire Harris Falcon III^® 7800 tactical radio family — including High-Frequency, Very-High-Frequency, Multiband, Soldier Personal Radio and High-Capacity Line-of-Sight radios. Harris tactical communications systems will be installed in vehicles, shelters and operations centers.
